Hi! I’m Kassi. I’m glad you’re here.
First and foremost, I’m a mother to three beautiful children, I am a wife to a union piledriver, and active volunteer and advocate in Moorhead. I grew up in Wadena, Minnesota and moved to Moorhead to attend MSUM. I graduated with Bachelors degrees in Cultural Anthropology, Archaeology, and Criminal Justice. My passion has always been advocating for people.
In 2025, I founded my nonprofit, Midwest Family Support and Advocacy, which offers IEP advocacy and support for families navigating education and disability systems. I also serve as the West Central Region Quality Council Associate for the Arc Minnesota.
I’m running for mayor because Moorhead deserves leadership that delivers change for the people. My background in community work, volunteer service, and advocacy has shown me both the strengths of our city and the areas where we can improve. I’m stepping forward because I’m ready to put my expertise to work for Moorhead.
I care deeply about this community because I’ve lived the challenges many families face. I grew up in a low-income household, and I know what it feels like to work hard and still struggle to keep up. That experience drives my commitment to supporting families, working people, and neighbors who feel left behind.
As mayor, I will focus on strengthening the foundations that help people build stable, thriving lives. I want to support our parents working to support their families, our young professionals, and our families looking to move to Moorhead. I want to uplift our local businesses. I want families to have access to good-quality, affordable childcare. And I want our workforce to have real opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed.
Moorhead has incredible potential. With transparent and community-centered leadership, we can build a city where everyone has the chance to move forward.
